A long awaited visit to Abbeyleix by our RocknRoll dancers proved a great success. The care home staff went above and beyond with their hospitality and laid on a wonderful spread of treats far beyond our expectations. Our chairman Willie presented one of our recently acquired special mugs to the hostess. Many thanks to all the residents and staff for joining in the fun.

First visit by Club to St. John’s Nursing home Enniscorthy. A warm welcome was received. The music and dancing thoroughly enjoyed by both residents and dancers. A lovely lady made a little speech to say how much she looked forward to seeing us all again soon. Many thanks to the staff and residents of St Johns for a lovely afternoon.

Rockin’ Food and Fruit Festival Celebrates 10 Years with Record Turnout

The Rockin’ Food and Fruit Festival marked its 10th anniversary with a record-breaking crowd of 50,000 in Enniscorthy, offering a vibrant mix of food, music, rides, and fireworks.

As Wexford’s largest festival outside the Fleadh Cheoil, the event boasted 80 food and craft stalls, live chef demos, and performances by musicians and dancers from across Ireland. Celebrity chefs like Kevin Dundon, Edward Hayden, and local talents Paul Hynes and Warren Gillen delighted food lovers throughout the weekend.

Minister James Browne officially launched the festival at Enniscorthy Castle, praising the organisers’ decade-long dedication. Cathaoirleach Aidan Browne and Kevin Lawlor of Enniscorthy Credit Union both highlighted the festival’s impact on community spirit and the local economy.

The spotlight was also on homegrown brands, thanks to Wexford Food Producers Network, with names like Naturally Cordial, Isle of Crackers, and Killowen Farm taking centre stage.

Music stages lit up the town, while family-friendly attractions included Lego workshops, puppet shows, and character meet-and-greets. Local emergency services ensured everything ran smoothly.

Festival Chair Eric Barron and organiser Amanda Whitmore thanked sponsors, volunteers, and attendees for making the anniversary unforgettable.

“From buzzing streets to electric energy, this was our biggest celebration yet,” Whitmore said.
